Sports Club Awards Nominations
March 10th, 2016
Hi team. Make sure to check your email and submit your nominations for the 2015-2016 Sports Clubs Awards Banquet. This is a great opportunity for the club to receive some recognition for all of its accomplishments this year, and the team awards typically come with cash prizes for the recipient club. All members are welcome to submit nominations. The deadline is April 4th.
Categories include Best Fundraiser, Best Traveler, Outstanding Service, Outstanding Individual Leadership, Female and Male Athlete of the Year, and Coach of the Year. Here are some stats from this year:
-Fundraising: Flip for a Tip ($1,761.22), Community Days ($250.00), Intrasquad ($1,121.15 excluding leotards), and Basketball program sales ($500) have raised a collective $3,632.37. We still have letter drive and leotard sales to go!
-Travel: The club traveled to Minnesota and Champaign for competitions already. We will also be sending 26 students to Nationals in Sacramento, CA later this year for an estimated $150 per person!
-Service: We have logged over 100 hours of community service between Homecoming 5K, Jingle Bell Walk/Run, Pond Hockey Shoveling, Second Harvest Food Bank, All Dressed Up, and Special Olympics.
For the individual awards, the men's and women's teams have done exceptionally well this year! Our women's team won their first ever competition at the 2016 Flippin' Illini Invite, and the men's team has grown to a record size. Nominate your favorite athletes for awards.

Team dinner
February 22nd, 2016
Everybody put your aprons on and start slaving away in the kitchen because it's team dinner time again, and we're going to try it potluck style! This means everybody must bring a dish. If you don't have access to a kitchen, or you burn everything but water, buy something. Since everyone is chipping in, there will be no fee this time. Make sure to let Jessa know that your coming and what you plan on bringing, or RSVP on the Facebook event here.
